Colon vs River
Colon fans will have felt devastated after the team’s 2-2 home draw against Union Santa Fe in an entertaining city derby as El Sabalero conceded the equaliser in the 92nd minute. As a result, they made it two points in as many games in this competition. To make matters worse, Julio Falcioni’s men are on 12 league matches without a win (eight stalemates and four defeats since beating Barracas Central 2-1 as hosts at Patronato in February). Since then, they played six domestic matches at home, drawing four and losing two.
River Plate are yet to score and concede in the Liga Profesional following their second consecutive scoreless draw (against Atletico Tucuman at home last Saturday). With two points in this competition, they remain occupying one of the Copa Libertadores berths in the 2022 aggregate table. In fact, El Millonario are on three league games without a win if we consider their 2-1 home defeat to Tigre in the Copa Liga Profesional quarter-finals in May.
Colon should have won the weekend derby vs Union but they missed too many chances, River has been far from good this season and they are still missing many important starters, so I expect the hosts to at least get a draw.
