Argentine Primera Division: Colon vs Racing odds for July 02, 2023

Colon vs Racing

Colon are showing an improved version lately. Last Sunday, they were close to beating Rosario Central away but had to settle for a 1-1 road draw with the hosts equalising via a controversial penalty. El Sabalero are unbeaten in their last five matches in league action, winning one and drawing four in that time, which allows them to accumulate 24 points and open a six-point gap over the relegation spot in the aggregate table. At home, Colon are without defeat in their last nine matches, with three victories and six stalemates in that spell.

Racing Club couldn’t hold onto their lead and had to settle for a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Barracas Central after conceding the equaliser despite playing against ten men. La Academia are going through a difficult year in the league, accumulating 27 points, which keeps them out of the continental spots. However, Fernando Gago’s men also are on five matches unbeaten in this competition, having won two and drawn three. In fact, Racing have been winless in their last six domestic matches on the road, with three stalemates and three losses in that stretch. On Wednesday 18, they won 4-0 at home over Chile’s CD Nublense in a Copa Libertadores group match, securing the first spot in group A. Matias Rojas left the club to join Corinthians SC in Brazil.

Despite the midweek win in Libertadores, this is still a very poor season for Racing and withoout Matias Rojas they won’t be any better, so I’ll go here with the more rested and improved Colon.
