Colon vs Independiente
Colon are starting to improve after their mini crisis. Last time out, the team showed a good display of football to beat Sarmiento 3-1 away and secured their first win over recently-appointed boss Sergio Rondina. Overall, El Sabalero are on four league matches unbeaten, having won two and drawn two in that spell. In fact, they accumulated 13 points in this competition, approaching the Copa Sudamericana spots in the aggregate table. At home, Colon registered two victories, two draws and one loss in the Liga Profesional so far.
Independiente are still struggling to leave their crisis behind. Last time out, the team extended their winless streak to six league matches (one draw and five defeats) following a 1-0 loss to Atletico Tucuman, playing as hosts at Platense. Interim boss Claudio Graf resigned after only three games in charge. El Rojo are going through a terrible campaign, accumulating only eight points in ten matches in the Liga Profesional, which places them in the 25th place in that table. On away turf, Independiente are on eight league games without a win, drawing two and losing six since beating Barracas Central 1-0 at Huracan in April.
Independiente can’t get out of this crisis and they will have yet another interim coach (the previous one resigned this week) so I expect Colon to take advantage of them and take another very needed win.
