Colon vs Banfield
Colon saw their ten-match unbeaten streak of two victories and eight draws in league action coming to an end last Sunday, when the team succumbed to a 2-0 away defeat at Defensa y Justicia following a poor performance. As a result, El Sabalero remain on 14 points in as many matches in the Liga Profesional, which means they dropped down to the 23rd place of the respective table, leading bottom-placed Union Santa Fe (who hold one game in hand) by five points.
Banfield showed another disappointing performance last Saturday, when they recorded a scoreless home draw against Barracas Central, who created the better chances of the game. El Taladro continue to perform quite irregularly in the Liga Profesional, counting a single victory across their last six matches, alongside three stalemates and two defeats. Their campaign has been poor so far, grabbing 15 points in 14 rounds, which keeps them in 21st spot of the league rankings. Banfield managed five points from 18 on offer on away turf, having won one, drawn two and lost three this term.
Colon couldn’t hold the very dangerous Defensa last week but they are definitely improved. Their last home game was finally a win in front of their fans, the first of the season, and I expect this good run to continue against the poor Banfield.
