Colon vs Arsenal

Colon have been one of the best teams this term, but they are experiencing a slump at the moment. Last time out, they lost 2-1 away at Racing Club after conceding in stoppage time and made it four games without a win in this competition, having earned only two points in the process. However, they remain as group A leaders on 21 points, two above second-placed Estudiantes, and will secure their ticket to the playoffs in the event of winning here. Colon remain unbeaten at home, with two victories and three draws in a row.

Arsenal managed an important victory last Sunday, when beating Defensa y Justicia 1-0 away with an alternative XI thanks to an own goal from Ezequiel Unsain. Sergio Rondina’s men are on four league games without defeat, having drawn one and won three straight to make it 11 points in total (which is not yet enough to leave the bottom spot in group A). Furthermore, they also are on a two-game winning streak on away turf in the Copa Liga Profesional.

Colon needs to win to secure a place in the playoffs, Arsenal has shown signs of improvement lately and will fight hard despite some tiredness from playing a midweek Copa Sudamericana game, so I expect an open game here between a team that needs to win and another one with not much to lose.
