Thanks to that victory, Leonardo Madelon’s men put an end to their three-game winless streak of one draw and two defeats in this competition and made it 18 points in the Liga Profesional table. It’s a decent campaign that allows them to hold a six-point gap over the first relegation spot in the point-average rankings, occupied by Platense. Central have been irregular as hosts this term, winning three, drawing one and losing three.
Sarmiento had to settle for a disappointing 1-1 home draw against Godoy Cruz last time out despite having taken the first lead in the game. Therefore, El Verde claimed a single victory across their last four league matches, along with one draw and two defeats in that stretch. However, the point allows them to climb out of the relegation zone in the point-average table (leading Platense by one), accumulating 16 points in 14 games this term. Sarmiento are winless in their last five matches on away turf, drawing two and losing three since beating Colon 2-0 in round three.
Even if Central Cordoba has been irregular when playing at home, this game will be played at their own stadium instead of the province one so I’ll trust them here to beat the even poorer Sarmiento.
