Central Cordoba vs Racing

CA Central Cordoba were dominated from beginning to end last time out and ended up suffering a deserved 2-0 away defeat to Independiente last Sunday. Having lost their last two league games, El Ferroviario remain on 28 points after 25 rounds of Liga Profesional action. As a result, they remain six points above the bottom spot in the aggregate table (occupied by Sarmiento) with two rounds to go. Central are now on three home matches without a win, having drawn one and lost two in that spell.

Racing Club took a big step back in their fight for the league title last Wednesday, when they succumbed to an unexpected 5-4 home defeat to Estudiantes in a thrilling match. That result put an end to their five-match winning streak in this competition and La Academia remain on 43 points, trailing table toppers Velez Sarsfield by five with just two rounds to go, which forces them to win both the remaining games and wait for other results. Racing won their last three away matches in domestic action, scoring twice in each of those games. Adrian Martinez will rest on Saturday and Marco Di Cesare is out injured. Agustin Almendra

Racing are coming from a goalfest in a 4-5 defeat at home vs Estudiantes where they said goodbye to their chances to win the championship. They are relaxed, in celebration mode after winning Copa Sudamericana and even though they won’t have striker Adrian Martinez they will have playmaker Juan Quintero so I expect to see another open game.
