Central Cordoba vs Patronato

With Adrian Adrover as interim boss after Sergio Rondina’s departure, CA Central Cordoba secured a valuable 2-2 away draw at Estudiantes despite trailing 2-0 at one point. The team made it eight points in the Liga Profesional and are just two points over the first relegation spot in the respective table, occupied by Aldosivi, after winning only one of their last five league matches (along with one stalemate and three defeats). El Ferroviario lost their last two home matches to San Lorenzo and Argentinos Juniors at Estadio Madre de Ciudades. On a positive note, they will return to their own stadium (Alfredo Terrera) on Thursday.

Patronato deflated their performance last weekend and succumbed to a devastating 1-0 home defeat to direct relegation contenders Sarandi Arsenal. Having won only one of their last four league games (one draw and two losses), El Patron remain on eight points in the Liga Profesional and, which is more important, they continue sitting in the bottom place in the relegation table, far away from safety. To make matters worse, Patronato are on four winless matches on away turf, having drawn one and lost three since beating San Lorenzo 2-1 in April.

Patronato are so deep in the averages table that it seems impossible for them to avoid relegation but if there are games they must win are those against other teams down in that table and Central Cordoba is one of them. With nothing to lose for the visitors, I expect them to go for the win making this an open game with goals.
