Central Cordoba vs Arsenal
After a mini improvement, CA Central Cordoba played their worst game of the year two weeks ago, when they were thrashed by Velez Sarsfield 4-0 away from home. That defeat put an end to their three-game unbeaten streak of two victories and one draw. El Ferroviario remain on eight points in as many matches in the Liga Profesional, three above bottom-placed Colon and also three over the first relegation spot in the point-average table, shared by Platense and Sarmiento. However, Central are on two consecutive successes at home, beating Argentinos Juniors 1-0 and Tigre 2-0.
Arsenal don’t give up on their fight to avoid relegation either. Last time out, the team secured a highly celebrated 2-0 home win over Tigre thanks to goals from Luis Leal and Tiago Banega. Carlos Ruiz’s men are experiencing good form at the moment, losing only one of their last four league games (alongside two victories and one draw). Accumulating eight points in as many games, El Viaducto are now nine points behind Platense and Sarmiento in the point-average table (the teams are level in the first drop spot).
Both teams arrive at this game in decent form after some very good results, but this is not enough for Arsenal who are bottom of the averages table and looking at a potential relegation if they can’t have a great season. This is one of the games they definitely must win as Central Cordoba is one of the closest teams even if they are 12 points above them, so I expect them to take risks and make it an open game here.
