Central Cordoba – Tigre

CA Central Cordoba seem to have taken a little breather after securing their top-flight status. Last Friday, the team played a poor game and succumbed to a 2-0 away defeat at Sarandi Arsenal, which represented their second consecutive loss in league action. El Ferroviario have been performing well in the Liga Profesional though, accumulating 31 points with one game in hand so far.

Tigre crowned a remarkable campaign in their return to the top flight by securing a ticket for the 2023 Copa Sudamericana, which they did last Thursday following a 2-0 away success at Newell’s Old Boys. That result extended El Matador’s unbeaten streak to ten Liga Profesional matches (six wins and four stalemates). Diego Martinez’s men made it 40 points in the league table and even hold a chance of fighting for a Copa Libertadores spot (trailing the last qualifying berth by three with two rounds to go).

Tigre has been in great form lately and I expect it to continue agains this Central Cordoba that looks relaxed in the last few games.
