Boca vs Colon
Even though Boca Juniors qualified for the Copa Libertadores through the Copa Argentina title, they still performed a good league campaign, ending in fifth spot of the 2021 aggregate table. In fact, El Xeneize succumbed to a single defeat in their last six league games, winning three and drawing two. At home, they took seven points from the last nine available. The club signed Dario Benedetto (from Elche, Spain).
Colon experienced the best year of their history in 2021, lifting their first league title in May (which qualified them for the Copa Libertadores) and finishing in fourth spot of the aggregate table. However, they took only four points in their last four league games and claimed just one win in five away matches (one draw and three losses). Coach Eduardo Dominguez left the club to join Independiente and Julio Cesar Falcioni arrived to take over. The club signed Luis Rodriguez (returns after six months at Gimnasia LP), Joaquin Novillo (Racing Club) and Juan Sanchez Mino (Estudiantes) in a total of six arrivals.
Boca will have top striker Dario Benedetto again, while Colon has Luis Rodriguez, their best player when they won the championship last year, so I expect an open game here with some goals.
