Boca Jrs vs Sarmiento
Boca Juniors celebrated their first win in the new season last Sunday, when beating Newell’s Old Boys 1-0 away from home thanks to a strike from Carlos Izquierdoz in the second half. The defending champions made it four points in two rounds and extended their undefeated streak to ten matches in league action (four victories and six draws in regular time). At home, they haven’t lost any of the last five domestic games, having won two and drawn three.
Sarmiento seem to have work to do in their return to the first division after three and a half years. The team opened up their season with a 2-1 home defeat to Velez Sarsfield, but the rout could have been even heavier. The result also broke their eight-game unbeaten streak of four successes and four draws in regular time.
As irregular as Boca has been lately, they are in need of a big win and the recently promoted Sarmiento should be a team they can defeat easily.
