Belgrano vs Defensa y Justicia
Belgrano showed a great display of effort last Saturday, when they secured a massive point on their visit to league leaders Velez Sarsfield after a hard-fought 1-1 draw. However, El Pirata also made it three matches without a win in this competition, drawing two and losing one to make it 26 points in the Liga Profesional, a decent campaign which however leaves them without big aims for the remainder of the season. At home, Juan Cruz Real’s men won only one of the last five in domestic action, along with two stalemates and two losses. Alejandro Rebola and Rafael Delgado are set to return from their suspensions on Saturday.
Defensa y Justicia couldn’t take advantage of River Plate’s alternative lineup and had to settle for a scoreless home stalemate last weekend. As a result, El Halcon managed a single victory across their last six league games (drawing two and losing three) to continue occupying the penultimate spot of the Liga Profesional table on 16 points and to stay virtually out of the fight for a continental ticket via the aggregate rankings. In fact, Defensa earned just two points from 30 available on away turf in this competition. Winger Nicolas Palavecino is suspended for Saturday after seeing a red card against River Plate.
Even though Defensa has shown some small signs of improvement they are still a terrible team and especially away where they’ve lost 8 of the last 10 games so I have to trust Belgrano here who will have two important players back in defense, Rebola and Delgado.
