Belgrano – Tigre
Belgrano finally suffered their first defeat after being promoted to the top flight. On Saturday, they showed a terrible version and lost 3-0 away at Argentinos Juniors, who could have beaten them by a larger margin. Guillermo Farre’s men saw their seven-game unbeaten streak of six victories and one draw in league action coming to an end, but they remain on seven points after four rounds in the Liga Profesional, which keeps them safe from relegation threats for now. Belgrano are on five competitive victories in a row as the hosting side, the last of those at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes (2-1 over River Plate).
Tigre finally suffered their first Liga Profesional defeat in 2023 last Saturday, when they lost to River Plate 1-0 at home after conceding in the 79th minute of a hard-fought match. El Matador are now on three league matches without a win (two stalemates and one loss), accumulating five points in four rounds so far.
Even if Tigre is a better team they’ve been too unreliable so far this season winning only one game. Belgrano at home is a strong team and I can’t see them as the underdog here.
