Barracas Central vs San Lorenzo
Ivan Tapia’s strike in the 61st minute allowed Barracas Central to secure a massive point on their visit to Colon last Sunday, when drawing 1-1 after conceding first. El Guapo are starting to improve under recently-appointed boss Sergio Rondina as they are now unbeaten in the last four matches in league action (one victory and three stalemates), which allows them to accumulate 19 points, far away from relegation threats in both tables for now. Furthermore, Barracas lost only one of their last four matches at Estadio Claudio Tapia, along with two victories and one stalemate.
San Lorenzo are still contending for the Liga Profesional title. Last weekend, the team secured a valuable 2-0 home success over newly-promoted side Instituto through two penalties netted by Andres Vombergar. El Ciclon continue flying high in this competition: the side are second-placed on 35 points, five behind table toppers River Plate, after nine matches without defeat (five victories and four draws). On away turf, San Lorenzo have been unbeaten in their last four in domestic action, winning two and drawing two.
With playmaker Nahuel Barrios back from injury and Adam Bareiro from suspension I expect San Lorenzo to continue their impressive league run and get the win against this very poor Barracas.
