Barracas Central vs PatronatoÂ
Barracas Central are starting to worry regarding relegation again. Last Wednesday, the team couldn’t stop Estudiantes’ offensive power and ended up losing 3-1 away from home in an intense game. Following their second consecutive defeat in league action, coach Alfredo Berti resigned. El Guapo remain on nine points in as many matches in the Liga Profesional, which places them in the 20th place of the point-average table. Barracas lost three of their five home matches in this competition, along with one victory and one draw.
Patronato continue fighting to leave the relegation zone. Last time out, the team managed a massive 1-0 home success over Tigre thanks to a goal from Francisco Alvarez in the second half. Having won the last two league matches (and three of the last five alongside one draw and one loss), El Patron made it 14 points in the Liga Profesional, which is a very good campaign for them. Even though the team continue bottom-placed in the relegation table, they have shortened the gap behind the first safe spot, occupied by Aldosivi, to eight points.
Every game is a final for Patronato, draws are useless for them considering they are so far behind in the relegation table and they are playing here against a rival also fighting to avoid relegation so I have to expect an open game where both will try to take the 3 points they really need.
