Barracas Central had a rough night at Huracan last time out, they were dominated from beginning to end and suffered a deserved 2-0 away defeat. El Guapo remain on four points in as many matches in Liga Profesional action this season, but they aren’t yet threatened by relegation. The team secured a single victory from their last five league games, along with two draws and two losses in that spell. Furthermore, Barracas are on five home matches without a win, having drawn four and lost one since beating Godoy Cruz 3-1 in September.

Gimnasia LP managed to secure their first victory in the Liga Profesional in round four, when they showed an improved version to beat Instituto 2-0 at home thanks to goals from Nicolas Contin and Eric Ramirez. In fact, El Lobo put an end to a seven-match winless streak of two draws and five defeats to make it four points in 2023. Gimnasia took a single point across their last three away matches (since beating Banfield 2-0 in October).

Gimnasia won their first game last week when they looked improved but not really convincing, and one thing is to play at home and another thing when they are away since they are a very young team. Also midweek they were eliminated from Copa Argentina by 4th tier club Excursionistas after a 1-1 draw. 

Barracas is also not exactly a reliable team but at home they don’t lose much so these are good odds to trust them.
