Barracas Central vs Defensa y Justicia
Barracas Central were dominated from beginning to end last Saturday and succumbed to a 3-1 away defeat at Rosario Central. Therefore, they are now on three league matches without a win, having taken only two points in that spell. El Guapo remain on 14 points in the Liga Profesional, but it’s still enough for the newcomers to stay away from the relegation spots in the respective table (occupying 20th place at the moment). Barracas lost only one of their last four home matches at All Boys (winning two and drawing one in that spell), but they will play at their own stadium for the first time this season on Thursday.
Defensa y Justicia saved a home point following a lucky scoreless draw against Tigre last Saturday, when the visitors looked clearly better. As a result, El Halcon are now winless in their last three league games (two stalemates and one defeat) and are producing an irregular campaign in the Liga Profesional, with 15 points in 13 games. However, the team continue sitting into the Copa Sudamericana zone in the aggregate table. On the road, Defensa secured only four points from 18 on offer (winning one, drawing one and losing four so far).
Playing at their own stadium for the first time since returning to the top division has to be a confidence boost for Barracas so I expect them not to lose here against a very irregular Defensa y Justicia.
