Barracas Central vs Boca
Barracas Central secured a valuable point on their visit to Atletico Tucuman last time out following a 1-1 away draw in an intense match, with Facundo Mater netting the equaliser in the 81st minute. Therefore, they made it nine points in eight games to stay four points over the bottom spot in the Liga Profesional table, occupied by Colon. On a sorry note, El Guapo are without a win in their last three games, drawing two and losing one in that spell. At home, Barracas have been irregular this term, grabbing five points from 12 available as a product of one win, two stalemates and one loss. The squad are fully fit to host Boca Juniors on Saturday.
Defending champions Boca Juniors are going through a difficult moment. The team succumbed to an unacceptable 3-2 home defeat to newcomers Instituto in their last league game, which means they are on three Liga Profesional matches without a win (having grabbed a single point in that time). Following that poor run, El Xeneize remain on 11 points, occupying 14th place in the league rankings at the moment, which is a terrible campaign for one of the biggest clubs in Argentina. Boca secured three points in as many away games in domestic action this term, having beaten Velez Sarsfield and lost to Talleres and Banfield. Last Saturday, Boca beat third-tier side Olimpo in the Copa Argentina first round, but coach Hugo Ibarra was dismissed and left the club. Mariano Herron will take over as interim boss at Barracas Central.
Boca is a mess right now, they still don’t have a new coach, they will have some missings due to injuries, so even though Barracas is not very reliable at this moment I think they should be able to get at least a draw at home.
