Barracas Central vs Argentinos Jrs
Barracas Central are showing great improvements lately. Last Saturday, they managed a huge 2-0 away success at Talleres with Facundo Mater and Bruno Sepulveda scoring. As a result, the team are now on three matches unbeaten (two victories and one draw) to make it nine points and continue escaping the relegation places in the respective table. As hosts, Alfredo Berti’s men secured four points in as many matches (winning one, drawing one and losing two), but they beat San Lorenzo 2-1 in their last home game.
Argentinos Juniors secured a big 2-1 home success over Tigre last Monday, with Gaston Veron and Javier Cabrera netting the back of the net. Thanks to that victory, they are now on three league games unbeaten (two wins and one draw) and 13 points in seven rounds in the Liga Profesional, which also allowed them to climb into one of the Copa Libertadores places in the aggregate table. On away turf, El Bicho collected three points in as many matches in this competition, winning one and losing two so far.
Barracas has scored in all games of this tournament and I expect this to continue with Argentinos missing their best defender; Miguel Torren, who is suspended.
