Banfield vs Racing
Banfield extended their winless run to seven league matches (four draws and three defeats) last Friday, when they succumbed to a 3-1 away loss at Platense following a terrible performance. El Taladro continue performing quite irregularly in the Liga Profesional, having grabbed 15 points so far: as a result, they remain out of the Copa Sudamericana places in the 2022 aggregate table. At home, Claudio Vivas’ men are on five matches without a win (drawing four and losing one) since beating CA Central Cordoba in round three.
Racing Club had to settle for a scoreless home draw against Boca Juniors last Sunday, when they wasted a large number of goalscoring chances. Even though that result is bad news for them as the team are now on 21 points in the Liga Profesional (seven behind leaders Atletico Tucuman), La Academia also are on nine league matches unbeaten (three victories and six stalemates), which places them at the top of the 2022 aggregate table.
Seems like a perfect opportunity for Racing to finally win again against a Banfield that might be looking at a coach change soon.
