Banfield vs Huracan
Banfield have been knocked out of the 2023 Copa Liga Profesional quarter-finals after losing on penalties to Godoy Cruz (following a scoreless draw in Villa Mercedes). Even though Julio Falcioni’s men weren’t able to clinch a continental ticket, they hold a ten-match unbeaten streak of four victories and six draws in league action. In fact, El Taladro haven’t lost any of their last five at home, winning three and drawing two. Facundo Cambeses and Eric Remedi have been sold to Racing Club and San Lorenzo respectively. On the other hand, Bruno Sepulveda (from Barracas Central) is the most relevant signing of the break.
After winning group A in the 2023 Copa Liga Profesional, Huracan surprisingly lost to Platense on penalties in the quarter-finals following a 1-1 stalemate. However, they made it six league games without defeat, with four wins and two draws. In fact, El Globo are on three consecutive victories on away turf. Nevertheless, coach Diego Martinez left the club to join Boca Juniors. Facundo Sava arrived to replace him.
Huracan looked good in attack during their preseason friendlies against two uruguayan clubs, lost 2-3 vs Liverpool and won 2-1 vs Danubio. Their new coach Facundo Sava likes to have attacking teams (he won Copa Argentina with the very small club Patronato in 2022) so I expect at least a couple of goals here on this very short totals line.
