Banfield put an end to their three-game winless run in the Copa Liga Profesional (two draws and one loss) last Monday when beating Atletico Tucuman (who were perfect beforehand) 2-0 away thanks to goals from Giuliano Galoppo and Agustin Fontana. On a sorry note, Javier Sanguinetti’s men have been irregular at home so far, having registered one win, one draw and one defeat in this competition.
Gimnasia LP opened up their campaign in the Fase Campeonato with a convincing 2-0 away win at Colon thanks to goals from Marcelo Weigandt and Nicolas Contin. That result extended their unbeaten run to four matches (two victories and two draws). In fact, El Lobo took seven points from the last nine on offer on the road. Gimnasia LP centre back Maximiliano Coronel had to be replaced at Colon with knee issues and will miss out.
Striker Cuero is back for Banfield and Gimnasia will miss their best defender, so I expect the hosts to win here.
