Banfield vs Estudiantes
Banfield will return to the Copa Sudamericana in 2022 thanks to their 3-2 victory over Velez Sarsfield in San Juan in a heated playoff last Wednesday. Speaking of the current league, the team drew 1-1 at Aldosivi in round seven to make it four games unbeaten in the Copa Liga Profesional (one victory and three stalemates). Estudiantes are now on three league matches without a win (taking a single point in the process) following a 2-0 home defeat to San Lorenzo last Monday, when they produced a poor performance. As a result of this negative streak, El Pincha remain on 11 points and have been displaced from the playoff places in group A. On a positive note, Estudiantes are unbeaten on away turf this term, having beaten Godoy Cruz and Sarandi Arsenal and drawn with CA Central Cordoba.
Estudiantes might not be at their most regular moment but against a Banfield with many missings they should be at least capable of getting a draw.
