Banfield v Independiente Rivadavia

Banfield returned to winning ways in the best possible moment. Last Monday, the team beat Barracas Central 1-0 away at Deportivo Riestra thanks to a direct free kick netted by Damian Diaz to stop a four-match winless streak of two stalemates and two defeats and make it 14 points in the Liga Profesional. As a result, they opened a ten-point gap over the relegation spot in the aggregate table. However, Banfield remain winless in their last four at home, drawing three and losing one.

Independiente Rivadavia don’t want to give up on their fight to stay in the top flight. On Monday, the team secured a massive 1-0 home success over Defensa y Justicia thanks to a penalty netted by Franco Romero. La Lepra put an end to a five-match winless run of one stalemate and four losses to accumulate 18 points in the Liga Profesional. It’s not yet enough to climb out of the relegation zone in the point-average table, but they remain alive. Independiente Rivadavia haven’t won any of their last five on away turf, drawing one and losing four.

Independiente Rivadavia are starting to get desperate for points. They are last in the relegation table and unless they keep winning games they will get relegated in a couple of months. They will both have missings in defense due to injuries, one goal should open things up so I’ll go for the OVER here.
