Banfield – Tigre
Banfield were unable to hold the lead they had taken in the first half last Saturday and eventually fell 2–1 away to Rosario Central, despite putting in a strong effort throughout the match. El Taladro are going through a difficult spell: they have lost three of their last four league matches —winning only one— and have collected just ten points from the same number of games in the Torneo Apertura, which keeps them near the bottom of the relegation-average table. All of those points have come at home, where they have recorded three wins, one draw and two defeats. Sergio Vittor will miss another match due to a muscle injury.
Tigre are experiencing a slight dip in results amid what has otherwise been an excellent campaign. On Sunday night, the team produced a very encouraging performance but ended up drawing 1–1 at home against Argentinos Juniors. El Matador extended their winless run in the league to five matches —four draws and one defeat— but they remain near the top of Group B with 17 points, three behind the leaders Independiente Rivadavia.
