Banfield are now on three league games without a win (one draw and two consecutive defeats) following their 2-0 away loss at Argentinos Juniors last Saturday as a result of a poor performance. El Taladro have been irregular in this tournament, accumulating six points in as many games so far. Furthermore, Javier Sanguinetti’s men grabbed a single point in two home matches without even scoring.

Estudiantes managed their third consecutive success in league action last Sunday, when they beat Boca Juniors 1-0 at home with centre back Fabian Noguera netting the winner in the 75th minute. Thanks to that run, El Pincha are now fourth-placed on 12 points, trailing leaders Independiente by two, and hold one of the Copa Libertadores places in the aggregate table. On away turf, Ricardo Zielinski’s men beat Sarmiento and CA Central Cordoba and lost to Newell’s Old Boys. All regulars are available for Friday.
