Banfield – Barracas Central
Banfield seems to have found a better direction under the leadership of Pedro Troglio. Last weekend, the team defeated Newell’s Old Boys 2-1 away from home, with goals from Rodrigo Auzmendi and Mauro Méndez. With that result, they reached four points in the Torneo Clausura and remain unbeaten in league play since the arrival of their new manager, recording two wins and one draw, which places them two points above the relegation zone.
Barracas Central did not enjoy a happy return to their home ground, the Estadio Claudio Tapia. Last Sunday, the team suffered a comprehensive 3-0 defeat at home to Independiente Rivadavia. This loss — their second in the last three league matches, with only one win in that span — has temporarily pushed them out of the Copa Sudamericana qualification zone while they remain on three points in the Torneo Clausura. El Guapo have lost three of their last five matches on the road, winning the other two.
Banfield looked good in the win at Newell’s, they can become leaders of Group A if they win here and considering their good mood and that Barracas looked bad last week in a big defeat at home, I’m going to trust the hosts here.
