Atletico Tucuman vs Newell’sÂ
Atletico Tucuman completed their home match against Huracan last Wednesday and were able to hold onto that 1-1 draw in spite of playing with nine men. A few days earlier, they had lost 2-0 at Gimnasia LP. As a result, El Decano are occupying 11th spot in group B on five points as a product of one victory, two draws and three defeats. At home, they took four of those points, having registered one win, one draw and one loss. Javier Toledo and Nicolas Aguirre are ready to return after overcoming their respective injuries.
Newell’s Old Boys showed slight improvements in coach German Burgos’ debut, but it wasn’t enough to claim the first victory of the season. The scoreless home draw with Union Santa Fe means La Lepra are on eight league games without a win (two stalemates and six defeats) and continue occupying the penultimate spot of group B table on two points. Furthermore, Newell’s grabbed a single point across their last four road matches since beating Godoy Cruz 3-0 in December.
Striker Javier Toledo is back for Atletico, both will have defensive missings and the last 5 times they met there were at least two goals, so I expect another open game here.
