Atletico Tucuman finished their perfect first stage with a 5-3 away success at Union Santa Fe even though coach Ricardo Zielinski rested many regulars. El Decano were the best team in this competition so far, having won all six matches and averaging 3,16 goals so far. El Decano is on five domestic matches unbeaten at their own stadium, winning the last three and drawing two.
Banfield ended up second-placed in group 3 with 11 points following a 1-1 home draw with Rosario Central. That game made it three winless matches for Javier Sanguinetti’s men, who earned only two points in that span. However, El Taladro has been unbeaten in their last five away matches, winning two and drawing three. Banfield left-back Claudio Bravo is now suspended after seeing a red card against Rosario Central last time out but winger Mauricio Cuero recovered from his muscle issues.
These two were probably the teams that showed better football in the previous stage, and I have to expect an entertaining game between them especially now that Banfield will have their best player Mauricio Cuero back from injury.
