Arsenal vs Tigre
Sarandi Arsenal showed another interesting performance on the road last time out, but they failed to win away at Argentinos Juniors: it all ended in a 1-1 draw as the team conceded the equaliser in the 97th minute following a controversial penalty. As a result, the team made it five points in seven matches this season, having won one, drawn two and lost four so far. In fact, El Viaducto remain bottom in the point-average table, trailing Sarmiento (who are safe) by 12 points. Furthermore, Arsenal grabbed a single point from the last 12 available at their own stadium (since beating CA Central Cordoba 2-0 in October).
Tigre are performing clearly below their fans’ expectations at the moment. Last Saturday, the team succumbed to a surprising 2-0 away defeat at relegation candidates CA Central Cordoba, which means Diego Martinez’s men managed a single victory across their last six league games, drawing two and losing three. After a remarkable season in 2022, El Matador are now occupying a spot in the lower half of the Liga Profesional table on eight points.
Tigre has been totally unreliable lately but one thing for sure is that they can score. Their top scorer Mateo Retegui has been called to the Italian NT so he will be extra motivated, and although Arsenal has looked a bit improved lately they are still one of the worst defenses in the league with 10 goals conceded, so I’ll go for the OVER here.
