Arsenal vs Defensa y Justicia
Arsenal are getting worse game after game. Last Wednesday, the team produced a terrible performance and were thrashed by Rosario Central 4-0 away. It was their fifth consecutive winless league game, including one draw and four defeats (two of them under recently-appointed boss Israel Damonte). As a result, the team are now bottom-placed in the Liga Profesional’s table on five points (they also occupy the last spot in the 2021 aggregate rankings with 17 points in 21 rounds).
Defensa y Justicia continue to improve after an irregular start. Last Wednesday, the team managed a 2-0 home success over Newell’s Old Boys thanks to goals from Gabriel Hachen and Francisco Pizzini. That means they are on three league games unbeaten, winning two and drawing one to make it 11 points in the Liga Profesional. On the other hand, El Halcon are without a win in their last 12 away matches in domestic action: four stalemates and eight losses since beating Union Santa Fe 3-1 in December 2020.
Arsenal has by far the worst defense of the league with 18 goals conceded in 7 games, Defensa has a decent attack with 11 goals scored, so I have to expect an open game here.
