Arsenal vs Banfield
Arsenal put up a good fight on their visit to defending champions Boca Juniors last Sunday, but they ended up losing 2-1 in an intense match. That result broke their three-match unbeaten streak of two victories and one draw and prevented them from increasing the gap over the relegation zone: they are only five points above the first drop spot in the respective table. El Viaducto suffered only one loss across their last eight home matches, winning two and drawing five in that span.
Banfield experienced a rough debut in this competition, losing to Newell’s Old Boys 2-1 at home after being dominated from beginning to end. El Taladro continue to find trouble in league action, having won only one of their last six matches (along with two draws and three losses), which keeps them out of the Copa Sudamericana spots. However, the team managed seven points from the last 12 available on the road in domestic games, winning two, drawing one and losing one in that spell. Â
Arsenal has been strong at home lately and they scored in 7 of their last 9 games. Banfield showed nothing special in their debut vs Newell’s, so I like the chance of seeing at least a couple of goals here.
