Arsenal vs Banfield

 

Sarandi Arsenal put up a good fight in the league opener, but they couldn’t avoid a 2-1 away defeat at San Lorenzo in an intense game. That loss also put an end to their two-match winning run (over Independiente and Huracan). Sergio Rondina’s men were irregular at their own stadium last term, registering two victories and three defeats. On a positive note, the squad are fully fit to host Banfield on Friday.

In spite of having lost important players and not acquired any reinforcements, Banfield kept their standards up in the season opener and beat Racing Club 2-0 at home thanks to goals from Juan Alvarez and Giuliano Galoppo. It was their fifth victory across the last nine competitive games, along with three draws and a single defeat. El Taladro lost their last away match to Talleres 3-2, which broke a six-game unbeaten run of four victories and two draws on the road.

I expect goals here as Arsenal will have some debuts in defense and they already looked weak conceding twice in the first 10 minutes last week, while Banfield is quite solid in attack and can score at any moment.
