Argentine Primera Division: Arsenal – River Odds for August 17, 2022

Arsenal – River

Ignacio Gariglio’s strike in the second half allowed Sarandi Arsenal to take an important 1-1 away draw at Colon last Thursday. Having lost only one of their last 12 Liga Profesional matches (along with three victories and eight stalemates), El Viaducto made it 17 points in this competition, which is a worthy campaign for them. As a result, Leonardo Madelon’s men are now eight points above the first relegation spot in the respective table. At home, Arsenal secured nine points from 18 available (winning two, drawing three and losing one).

River Plate seem to be returning to their usual standards. Last Saturday, the team showed an enjoyable performance to thrash Newell’s Old Boys 4-1 at home with newly-arrived winger Pablo Solari netting a brace. El Millonario made it four victories across their last six league games, along with one draw and one defeat, to make it 21 points in the league (seven behind leaders) and stay into the Copa Libertadores zone in the aggregate table. On away turf, River are on three domestic matches unbeaten, having grabbed seven points from nine on offer in that span.

River showed all their attacking power in the last game and I expect this to continue but also as they suffer in defense due to some important missings.
