Argentinos Juniors vs Aldosivi
Argentinos Juniors reached the semi-finals in the Copa Liga Profesional and lost on penalties to Tigre after a 1-1 draw at Huracan. Their good campaign (25 points) left them in sixth place of the aggregate table, ready to fight for a Copa Libertadores’ ticket for next year. El Bicho are unbeaten in their last seven league matches, winning three and drawing four in regular time. At home, Gabriel Milito’s men managed ten points from the last 12 on offer. The club hasn’t signed any reinforcements while two secondary players left. Striker Gabriel Avalos is involved in friendly games with Paraguay’s national squad while Gabriel Florentin is suspended after seeing a red card against Tigre.
Aldosivi succumbed to a devastating 5-0 away loss at Racing Club in the Copa Liga Profesional quarter-finals, but they performed a decent campaign, accumulating 20 points, which allows them to open a six-point gap over the relegation zone and dream of a continental ticket for next season. On a sorry note, they are on five matches without a win in league action (one draw and four defeats). Three of those took place on the road and El Tiburon drew one and lost two. Last Monday, coach Martin Palermo surprisingly resigned due to a conflict with the board. Â
Despite a couple of missings Argentinos should be able to beat this Aldosivi that finished the last tournament in terrible form and lost their coach a week ago.
