Argentinos Jrs vs Velez
Argentinos Juniors had to settle for a scoreless away draw at Gimnasia LP in a six-pointer despite having created the best opportunities of the game. Even though the stalemate is bad news for them (as El Bicho have been displaced from the Copa Libertadores spots in the aggregate table, now trailing Huracan by one point), Gabriel Milito’s men are now unbeaten in their last four league games, winning one and drawing three to accumulate 39 points in the Liga Profesional.
Velez Sarsfield are probably showing their best version lately (in the context of a terrible season). Last Monday, the team played in good style to beat Estudiantes 4-0 at home. Therefore, El Fortin made it three victories across their last four league games (along with a single defeat) to accumulate 25 points in the Liga Profesional with one game in hand. On a sorry note, Velez have been winless in their last 13 away matches in domestic action, having drawn six and lost seven in the process.
If Argentinos wants to go to Copa Libertadores 2023 they will very likely need to win here (or depend on other results) but Velez has been playing better lately so I will take the OVER as the hosts might get desperate at some point.
