Argentinos Jrs vs Banfield
Argentinos Juniors wasted a big chance of becoming group leaders last Tuesday, when they failed to convert their chances and ended up drawing 0-0 away at Atletico Tucuman. Therefore, El Bicho accumulated five points in three matches in this competition, trailing River Plate and Instituto by two. Pablo Guede’s men won only one of their last 12 in league action, along with six stalemates and five losses. Argentinos beat Deportivo Riestra 2-0 in their last home match to break a four-game winless streak of two draws and two losses at Estadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Banfield returned to their poor form last Monday, playing far below the fans’ expectations and succumbing to an unexpected 2-0 home loss to Instituto. As a result, El Taladro managed a single point from nine available in the first three rounds of the Copa Liga Profesional, also making it four league games without a win (two draws and two defeats) and without even scoring.
Banfield has been just horrible and to make things worse they are getting depleted by injuries: midfielders Juan Pablo Alvarez and Alejandro Cabrera, defender Aaron Quiros and striker Bisanz are all starters that they will miss in this game so I have to go with Argentinos to continue with their good run of the last couple of games.
