Argentinos Jrs vs Banfield
Argentinos Juniors left good impressions on their visit to San Lorenzo last Saturday, but they eventually had to settle for a 1-1 away draw in a hard-fought match. As a result, El Bicho are unbeaten in their last four league games, but the last three were draws. Therefore, they accumulated 12 points in group A and are running out of chances of advancing to the playoffs. On a positive note, Argentinos managed seven points from the last nine available at their own stadium in the Copa Liga Profesional. The team beat Nacional from Uruguay 2-0 at home in a Copa Libertadores group game on Tuesday 20. All regulars are available for Saturday, but coach Gabriel Milito could rotate his players in view of the next continental games.
Banfield wasted a big chance of climbing into the playoff zone last Monday, when they ended up losing 1-0 to newly-promoted side Platense at home in a boring game. Therefore, Javier Sanguinetti remain on 13 points, two behind fourth-placed San Lorenzo, after four consecutive winless matches in this competition (two draws and two defeats). On away turf, they haven’t claimed any victories in the last three, drawing two and losing one since beating Sarandi Arsenal 2-0 in round two.
A draw would be completely useless for both teams, Argentinos will use a lineup with some reserves, so I’m going to take the over here with this very low line.
