Argentinos Jrs – San Lorenzo 

Argentinos Juniors continue finding trouble to improve. On Monday, they showed a terrible performance and suffered a devastating 2-1 away defeat to newcomers Independiente Rivadavia. El Bicho lost five of their last seven league games (along with a single win and one draw), including the last three. As a result, they remain on 26 points after 25 Liga Profesional matches, which places them five points behind the last Copa Sudamericana berth in the aggregate table with two rounds to go. Argentinos lost 1-0 to Barracas Central in their last home match after eight unbeaten at Estadio Diego Armando Maradona (four victories and four draws).

Iker Muniain’s strike allowed San Lorenzo to take a valuable point through a 1-1 away stalemate at River Plate in a boring match. El Ciclon made it three league games without a win (one draw and two defeats) to accumulate 29 points in 25 rounds of Liga Profesional action, a terrible campaign that keeps them without any relevant aims for the remaining two rounds. However, San Lorenzo have been unbeaten in their last three on the road, winning two and drawing one.

San Lorenzo at least showed good defensive skills in the derby at River where they were able to hold to a draw, and I expect them to do the same thing here and avoid a defeat against the irregular Argentinos Jrs.
