Argentinos Juniors showcased their outstanding football and proved too strong for Lanús in a 2-0 home victory on Saturday night, thanks to goals from Francisco Álvarez and Alan Lescano. As a result, El Bicho advanced to the quarterfinals of the Torneo Apertura and continue dreaming of winning a league title for the first time since 2010. The side coached by Nicolás Diez recorded their third victory in the last four matches in this competition, with only one defeat in that stretch. Huracan won against Boca but it came at a cost: they won’t have one of their best defenders, Fabio Pereyra, who is suspended, and I expect them to be more tired after playing an extra 30 minutes and with 9 men. Argentinos at home are extremely strong and I expect them to win and advance to the semifinals.
