Aldosivi vs Banfield
Aldosivi showed a decent version on their visit to title candidates Boca Juniors last Sunday, but they succumbed to a 2-1 away defeat anyway. That result means the team lost seven of their last ten matches in the Liga Profesional (winning one and drawing two) and remain bottom-placed in the league table on 16 points. That terrible campaign places El Tiburon into the relegation zone, seven points behind the first safe spot: Aldosivi will return to the second division in the event of losing to Banfield on Wednesday.
Banfield are getting worse as the season progresses. Last Sunday, the team showed a worrying version and succumbed to a 2-0 home defeat against Gimnasia LP under interim boss Cristian Vella, extending their winless streak to five league games (one draw and four losses in that time). This terrible form keeps El Taladro performing a poor campaign, accumulating 26 points in 24 rounds in the Liga Profesional. On away turf, Banfield are on two defeats in a row, having lost to Huracan and Velez Sarsfield since beating River Plate in September.
If Aldosivi doesn’t win they will be relegated and with Banfield with nothing to play for, I expect a very open game with both teams just playing in attack.
