Barracas Central – Union
Barracas Central played a very interesting game on their visit to Sarmiento last time out, when they secured an important 5-3 away success with striker Bruno Sepulveda netting a hat-trick. Thanks to that success, El Guapo took their first three points in the Liga Profesional and made it two victories and three draws across the last six league games, along with a single defeat in that spell. On a sorry note, Barracas are on four games without a win as the hosting side, with three draws and one loss since beating Godoy Cruz 3-1 in September. Coach Rodolfo De Paoli has a complete squad to choose from on Monday.
Union Santa Fe seem to be getting worse after a troubled season in 2022. Last Sunday, the team produced a worrying performance and succumbed to a deserved 2-0 home defeat to newly-promoted Instituto. Gustavo Munua’s men took a single point from the first six on offer in the Liga Profesional and also made it six league games without a win (three stalemates and three losses). Union have been winless in their last 11 away matches, drawing six and losing five since beating Banfield 3-2 in July. Playmaker Ezequiel Canete will miss out again due to a knee problem.
Barracas still has a lot to prove despite last week’s 5-3 win and at home against this very poor Union it looks like a great chance for them to start getting the points they need to avoid relegation.
