Tigre vs San Lorenzo
Tigre played their worst game in the Copa Liga Profesional last Wednesday and they returned home empty-handed after a deserved 2-0 away defeat at Defensa y Justicia. El Matador remain on four points in five matches in group B, having won one, drawn two and lost two in this competition so far. As a result, Lucas Pusineri are now threatened by relegation: their gap over the drop spot in the aggregate table is just five points at the moment. Tigre won only one of their last five at home in domestic action (drawing one and losing three), but that victory was over San Lorenzo (2-0 in July). Right back Martin Garay succumbed to a muscle injury and will miss out. Striker Tomas Badaloni continues to recover from a serious foot injury and his usual replacement Renzo Lopez is also unavailable due to a muscle problem.
San Lorenzo secured a valuable point on their visit to Estudiantes last Wednesday, when they drew 0-0 away after a poor match. El Ciclon remain unbeaten in the Copa Liga Profesional, but they accumulated only seven points as a product of one victory and four stalemates. Having won only one of the last seven in league action (along with two losses), Ruben Insua’s men remain into the Copa Libertadores’ zone in the aggregate table, leading fifth-placed Argentinos Juniors by three points. San Lorenzo lost only one of their last seven domestic matches on the road, winning two and drawing four.
San Lorenzo has been playing poor football lately but they don’t lose, they just draw a lot thanks to their very solid defense so I expect the same here as Tigre will miss two important strikers.
