Tigre vs Newell’s
Tigre are now going through a crisis. Last time out, the team had a tough night and succumbed to an unexpected 1-0 away defeat at CA Central Cordoba. After a mini slump, Newell’s Old Boys produced an excellent recovery in their last league game. The team showed enjoyable skills to beat San Lorenzo 3-0 away, with Cristian Ferreira netting a brace. That victory allowed them to break a five-match winless streak of two draws and three defeats in league action and to accumulate 11 points in the Copa Liga Profesional group B. Besides, La Lepra approached the Copa Sudamericana places in the aggregate table, now sitting just four points behind the last qualifying berth. Newell’s also won on the road after four league games without a triumph (during which they took a single point from 12 on offer).
Tigre are arguably one of the worst teams in the league right now, and they should be in trouble against this solid Newell’s that comes from a big away win.
