Talleres couldn’t show their usual skills in round three and returned home empty-handed following a deserved 2-0 away defeat at Rosario Central. Therefore, La T remain on six points in the Copa Liga Profesional (still one of the group A leaders alongside Huracan, Colon, Independiente, Velez Sarsfield and Banfield), holding a ten-point gap over the first non-Copa Libertadores spot in the aggregate table. However, that loss stopped their eight-game unbeaten run of four victories and four draws in league action. At home, Talleres are on ten without defeat, having won six and drawn four.
Instituto fans will have felt heartbroken two weeks ago as the team succumbed to an unbelievable 1-0 home defeat to Banfield after wasting a huge amount of goalscoring chances and conceding in stoppage time. Accumulating four points in three Copa Liga Profesional matches and having won only one of their last four league games (along with one stalemate and two defeats), La Gloria are yet to secure their top-flight status for next season.
Despite the previous round defeat, Talleres is still one of the best teams of the league. This is a derby of Cordoba and the hosts should beat this irregular and poor Instituto.
