San Lorenzo vs Huracan
Even though they focused on defending for almost the whole game, San Lorenzo had enough to secure a massive point on their visit to Tigre last Sunday following a scoreless draw. El Ciclon remain unbeaten in the 2023 Copa Liga Profesional, accumulating eight points after winning one and drawing five so far. As a result, the team hold onto their Copa Libertadores’ berth in the aggregate table, sitting in third place and leading Boca Juniors (in fifth) by three. On a sorry note, San Lorenzo are on four home matches without a win in domestic action, with three draws and one loss since beating Rosario Central 1-0 in early July.
Huracan are one of the best teams in the Copa Liga Profesional at the moment. Last Saturday, they showed a perfect style to thrash Velez Sarsfield 3-0 at home and become group A leaders on 12 points (alongside Colon) after claiming three victories across their last four matches in this competition (along with a single defeat). More importantly, El Globo also took a breather in their struggle to avoid relegation after a poor first semester: they are now leading Gimnasia LP and Velez Sarsfield (who share the drop spot in the aggregate table) by one point. On a sorry note, Huracan are pointless on the road so far. In fact, they won only one of the last 15 away games in domestic action, drawing three and losing 11.
Even if Huracan are in better form, they are still terrible when playing away. This is a derby that San Lorenzo usually dominates (they have a 40 games difference in the historic H2H) and with these odds I have to trust the hosts to recover from their recent poor performances.
