San Lorenzo returned to winning ways right on time. In round 13, El Ciclon secured a massive 1-0 away success at Defensa y Justicia in a six-pointer regarding the continental tickets, thanks to a strike from Gonzalo Maroni in the 61st minute. Ruben Insua’s men put an end to their 11-match winless run of nine draws and two defeats to make it 15 points in the group B table, which keeps them alive in the fight to secure a spot in the 2024 Copa Libertadores (now trailing fourth-placed Rosario Central by one point in the aggregate rankings). On a sorry note, San Lorenzo are on eight home matches without a win, having drawn six and lost two. On Thursday 23, they lost 1-0 to Defensa y Justicia in the Copa Argentina semi-finals.

San Lorenzo has no choice but to win if they want to have a chance at getting a Copa Libertadores 2024 ticket, so even if it’s not their style sooner than later they will need to take risks. Central Cordoba needs only 1 point to secure a playoff spot but with San Lorenzo in desperate mode I expect this to be an open game and I’ll go for the OVER on this very short line.
