Rosario Central vs Talleres
Rosario Central showed a terrible version on their visit to Banfield last Monday. The 3-0 away defeat means El Canalla took a single point from six on offer in the Copa Liga Profesional. Following that loss, Miguel Russo’s men made it five league games without a win (drawing four and losing one), which dropped them down to the tenth spot of the aggregate table, just two points above the first non-continental spot. On a positive note, Central haven’t lost any of their last 21 home matches, with ten victories and 11 draws.
Talleres continue showing they are one of the best teams in the league. Last weekend, the team claimed a valuable 2-1 home victory over Huracan thanks to a strike from Juan Rodriguez in the 88th minute and became one of the group A leaders on six points (alongside Colon). Furthermore, Javier Gandolfi’s men made it eight league games without defeat (winning four and drawing four) to stay second-placed in the aggregate table, 11 points above the first non-Copa Libertadores place. On away turf, Talleres are on four unbeaten, with three victories and one draw since losing to Lanus 2-1 in June. On Wednesday 30, they beat Colon on penalties after a 2-2 draw in the Copa Argentina round-of-16.
Rosario Central are finding a hard time to score without Alejo Veliz who is now in the Premier League, and this Talleres is a solid attacking team but lacks a good defense so I expect an open game here where the hosts will finally be able to score.
