Racing vs Rosario Central
Racing Club played their best match in the Copa Liga Profesional last Monday, securing a convincing 4-1 home success over Belgrano. Thanks to that victory, La Academia extended their unbeaten streak to six league matches (three wins and three stalemates) to climb into first spot of the group A table on 24 points and also secured a ticket to the 2024 Copa Sudamericana. Thinking of Sunday, striker Roger Martinez is available after overcoming his muscle issues.
Rosario Central secured a hard-fought 2-1 away victory at Sarandi Arsenal (already relegated) last Sunday thanks to goals from Luca Martinez Dupuy and Jaminton Campaz in the first half. Miguel Russo’s men made it eight league matches unbeaten (five victories and three draws) to accumulate 23 points in group A, ending up in fourth spot, and also clinched a ticket for the 2024 Copa Libertadores through the aggregate table.
Two of the best attacks in the league meet here and we should have an open game as neither of them defends well either. Racing will have their best striker, Roger Martinez, back from injury, Rosario Central has scored in 12 of their last 13 games including 9 in the last 4, so while it should be a tight game in the beginning because it’s just one game and the loser is eliminated, once someone scores everything should open up a lot.
